Dhrama Seminar @ Teochew Building

Ow Pa came over to Rosewood to fetch me to attend the Dhrama seminar about the taming one's mind and the buddha teaching at TeoChew Building. There were 2 sessions, the 4pm and the 7pm. I also brought Ow Pa and Ow Ma to Fish & Co and ordered the best fish & chips for Ma and the seafood platter for Pa. And they both love it!

After the dinner, we continued to sit in for the 2nd session until Aiai came to meet us with the Kab after her long meeting with her boss and her distributer at Holiday Inn. I accompanied her to have her late dinner at Zion food centre and then we drove home after that.

Got a great present from Ow Di. Yep, its the integrated Seagate external firewire/USB HD which I longed wanted. Thanks Di! Now, I can dump all my digital pictures into that huge mega disk and keep my PC HD free and fast.

Vagsg Mini GTG - Apr 08

Organized by S3 (patrick), a "mini" GTG, and thats what we called it. We had hit 99 VAG cars during that hot sunny Sunday afternoon. Hots of hot GTi, coupled with a few RS4s & a white R8, thats really aint mini at all. Old guards like UG and Sammy came down for the GTG after so many years of MIA. Lots of new babes snatching the very last few pieces of decals and within minutes, the decals were all gone.

Great turnout and most properly that will be my last GTG with my beloved Kab.

I have been poisoned, badly !

Deck sms yesterday and informed me that this Top Gun from IWC will be released here in Singapore this August and he asked if I want to join in with the waiting queue. Oh boy, this is sooooo poison! I have always a big fan of IWC but due to its cost of ownership, I can only dream for it but the unofficial list price was told its gonna be S$10,7000. The high-tech ceramic/titanium Top Gun pilot watch will be so limited that the waiting time might have to be more than half a year or even more.

And now, imagine you wearing this Top Gun and driving this (see below)

Dinner at "Galley by the Straits"

It was our first time having our dinner at SAF Yacht Club, Galley by the Straits, where we had a good view by the bench and felt abit like the dining experience at 1Degree15 (except cheaper), hehee. Speaking of the cost, actually, the food wasnt that cheap either. The steam fish we had was already like $45 and it was a small Soon Hock, mind ya. Nevertheless, the food was yummy! The good thing was we had a good dining session together with Aaron & Mok.

Old Town Coffee

We checked out the first Old Town Cafe, East Coast Park, right after our regular weekend roller blade session that Saturday evening and we noticed that it was just recently opened and it was by Mark Lee (李国煌) which made us all very susprised! Our dear Viv even took a picture with him. The best part was, about 20 MediaCorp artists were gathered there for some party and we had a table just next to them and got all the glamorous view. Gezz.. only when I got my camera with me.

Anyway, Old Town Cafe watch out... our new cafe will win them hands down. heee...

Sentosa Flowers 2008

We were able to catch all the beautiful flowers at the Sentosa before the final day at the show. The show attracted thousands of tourists and locals to come and view different type of flowers at its very best, arr.. maybe not. Thats because having there at the last day, I would say quite a portion of the flowers were not at its peak maybe due to the weather we have here. Nevertheless, the one we attended 2yrs ago was much better, bigger. Doesnt matter actually, we were there for free! ;-)

CNY at Kampong

This year was slightly special. Due to our absence (away at Bali), we had our CNY lunch instead at Kampong on the 4th day. We still managed to have lots of good food and tossing YuShen but we didnt bother to join them for the long winded socializing dinner and instead we had mee goreng & tao-fu goreng at Uncle Kim's restuarant.

Back from Bali

Yes, we are back! We had a wonderful time in Bali and everyone of us enjoyed so much.
Day1 - we reached Bali was almost like 8pm and after checked in to the rooms at Bali Dynasty Resort, was around 9pm. We put our belongings to the rooms and roamed around the area and finally we found a Greek restuarant and we had our supper there.
Day2 - After having our breakfast at the cafe, ow pa and ow ma went for the massage where else, me and aiai did some walking and had our ice cold root-beer at the A&W, Discovery Mall. Then we took a slow walk along the Kuta Beach and back to the hotel.
We had a half day tour to the Monkey Forest & the Rocky Temple. I really love the views at the Rocky Temple where you oversee the whole temples surrounded by the cliff and the beach. Too bad we had to rush for our dinner else we would have a good view for the sunset there.
Seafood dinner at the beach was great! We had grill fish, crap, prawns and sotong!
Day 3 - We took up another half day tour package at the Turtle Island where we had Banana boat (wow.. you should see how ow pa and ow ma rocked the boat), snorkeling and visit the animals at the Turtle Island.
After that, we even took a cab to the city for some shoppings. Yep, I got 5 polo shirts and that really made my day. Evening, we had our new year dinner at the Golden Lotus restuarant which was just in our own hotel and yes, the food was so good no wonder it was rated #1 chinese restuarant in Bali.

A family trip to Bali

When was the last time when the whole family had a group outing together? Seriously, I really cant remember. Most proberly 5-6yrs ago when we went to Melacca together with the whole entire family (2cars) and had a 4day stay there. But this time, we are all going to Bali, tomorrow. Exciting ah! Yeah, 9 of us, papa, mama, di & family, mei and both of us. I know its gonna be fun! Going for a trip like this really feel great!
Since I would be around in Singapore, I will just drop my note here on my blog, wishing all my love ones and my dear friends - a Happy Lunar New Year, Gong Xi Fatt Cai and may the rat bring greater prosperity!

Fengshui me, fengshui you.

For the past couple of days, both Aiai and myself were busy scouting for accessories for the fengshiu in our home. After that session with the fengshui master, whom we invited him over to check on our house, we got to enhance the fengshui (about 10 changes) that we need to do to make our house a better home. Some of dos:
- paint our living room gray (which it is kinda impossible at this time of the year where most of the workers will be taking long leave for CNY), but we managed to fill up the living room with lots of grey-colored accessories.
- covered up our glassed dining table
- get rid of our water feature
- place the string curtain at the glass panel
- put up the 'mirror' at our main door
- put the 'dragon root' at our position of fortune
- light up the corridor
- put the vase beside Aiai's bed
- etc...
Hope by doing all these, we will have a better year!

A pure Zaino weekend

What do I mean by a pure Zaino weekend? Imagine from 9 in the morning and doing nothing but just zainoing cars after cars till 5 in the evening. Sweaty & exhuasted by the end of the day but after seeing those smiles from my customers and telling me that my jobs are well done and they will come back for more really warm my heart and I do feel that satisfaction and archievement in my Zaino-ing.

Why am I doing all these? People may ask do I really short of all these money? Why not spend more time with Aiai rather than slaving myself in the basement carpark for the whole day polishing cars.

First of all, I must really admit I love waxing cars. The joy of a zainoed car is priceless! I am not short of money tho the family income is now solely loading on my shoulders but if I can make those extra bux from my spare time, why not? Besides CNY is coming, we need these for the 'Ang Bao' for our immediate families. So, these money does come handy. I am a big spender and for those who knows me, I am bad in managing my own wealth. Its a fortunate thing that my other half controls that very well. So, all the Zaino profits, I will all hand it 100% to my Aiai. She will save it in our common account and I am blessed to have her to help me managing our funds in that way. Else, you will see me down payment for that White R8 liao, haha! (Just kidding).

So, these are some of the cars I zaino over the weekend:

Sat Morning - Yen Tzi's Golf GT

Sat Afternoon - Florence's Suzuki Swift

Sun Morning - Andy's BMW 335

and Sun Afternoon - Hackzi's Lotus which he was waiting very impatiently for his car to finish and so I did not manage to snap a few pics of his beautiful car.

CNY Celebration at Silra Home

The most awaiting event of the year for Silra Home - the CNY Celebration! 30 over volunteers came down to help out for the celebration and we just had 1 thing in common, to bring happiness and joy to all the residents in Silra Home. As early as 12noon, many volunteers had arrived at the home to do up the last min preparation work for the celebration such as the lo yu shen, deco for the stage backdrop, wheel of fortune and dolling CK up as the god of fortune. Kudos to CK to endure all the heat in that outfit!
The entire event was successful! We were all very tired, programs after programs, games after programs, but once we see those smiling faces from the old folks, all the body ache that we had were all gone. Once again, we were proud of ourselves for the job well done and we will do it even better for many years to come.
We had a good treat at Ba Long restauant after the event.

Jiangmen D&D 2008

We had our Jiangmen D&D right after that long operation meeting on Friday. We had most of our managers from Spore and Hong Kong attended the D&D and best part was the whole event was so well organized and I really think Jiangmen one is 10times better than what we had ours back in Dec07. The MCs and the games they designed were all in-house and that added the touch of belongings. I felt the warmth of being one of the members that evening.

Overall, the food was good eventho it was buffet style. As I was the photographer and I did not have much to eat anyway. The games were simple but yet enjoyable. No dance but lots of singing and our dear Herbert just had too much to drink and he was just not himself that night. ;-)

I had a dream

I had a dream a couple of nights back. I seldom dream and I always sleep like a pig. Thats what my aiai always tells me.

Anyway, I would want to share this weird but kinda funny dream with you. It was about my dear friend, Chewschews (see the man on the right).

The dream goes like this...
One of our common friends, XXX, was driving his Audi coupe. Chews was sitting at the front passenger seat and while I was at the back.We came to this very dark street where along the road side, parked with a line of cars. It was quite impossible for the size of his car to go through that narrow street and Chews told XXX that it was impossible. But being the show-off type, he said he could make it to the end of the street. By saying that, he rev his engine and off he goes. He went through the first few ones without any problem but somewhere in the middle, a loud scratching sound from both sides of his car could be heard. Indeed, he couldnt get it though. His car was stucked in the middle by 2 cars parked right side by side and he was sandwiched. He stepped on the gas and some tyre squcky sound could be heard, and finally, his car broke off the barrier and flew across to the next street. I look back and seeing those 2 cars were very badly damaged.

XXX happily drove off the sence and dropped us somewhere ahead. Both of us were shocked. In just a short while, 2 policemen came and handcuffed Chews and took him away. They left me untouched. Chews was been hold up by those big sized policemen and from far, and he looked so helpess. I was thinking, what the hell. It was XXX who did the stunt and our poor chewschews was so innocent. I stand there for motionless for a minute and decided to do the 'chews rescue'. I ran up to the guys, distance was far, and shouted, release him, release him but the image soon was gone in sight. I was sad, I cried. Then I woke up by my 7am alarm clock.

End of dream....

I told the story to Chews and he said I was drama worr... What the ***

My Goals for 2008

I had attended Wealth Academy by Adam Khoo in Nov07 and he inspired me by turning the passion I have into a multiple income stream. In the course, I learnt alot of stuff from him and I generate lots of business ideas. One of them was to create this Zaino idea which I had been doing for years.

You see, I had been doing Zaino (a product which we use for car waxing) for my own cars and even for my friends for free for a few years now. But never in my mind has the idea to generate income for it. After attending WA, I decided to give this a try (you never know if you dont try).

I started a workshop session in a premises which belongs to a friend, whom I met in the forum (networking is your net worth). By conducting the these workshop sessions (multiply the skills to many), I teach them how to do detailing and grooming for their cars (this is Singapore and we have tons of car lovers here). So, once they know the right way to DIY, they will buy the Zaino products from me (one-stop shop). But I do face many different type of customers, some of them are keen to learn and want to DIY, some of them just dont have the time and car detailing is just not their priorities in their lives and some of them are just a mix of both. So, I have to be flexible and cater to all these customers who approach me for solution.

I get a friend to help to do up a web site for me. I always believe Internet can do so much more. Infact of telling my customers one by one what I am doing, I can just point out the url and they will go and visit my site and read about what I can deliver.
So, here, I would proudly present you my humble website, http://www.zainodiy.com/ and with this, I have completed phase 1 of my goals in 2008.

What about phase 2 and 3?

Adam also told us, he believes to list down all his goals and let everyone know about his goals. With that, he is putting himself on the line to deliver these goals. So, I am going to tell all of my friends, including you, I am going to publish my very own (and first) Video DVD on How to Zaino DIY your car (I am putting myself on the line as well, right?). Again, I am catering to customers who will be so busy and they will not have the time to come down to attend my workshops. And also, I am targetting to many by publishing my DVD to the mass. Isnt it wonderful? That will be my phase 2 goal.

Finally, my phase 3 will be setting up a grooming car shop in JB. Why JB? Because we have many car grooming shops in Singapore but none (or rather, no professional ones as yet) in JB. You could possible find it lots more in KL but I gurantee you that we do not have any (base on my research) in the small city, JB. The penetration of this market to JB is still very favourable and currently, me and some partners are seriously looking towards this venture and hopefully, you will get a nice auto grooming shop in JB while you do your shopping here.

These are my goals but above all, I have one last one to add.
I will work hard to have our first child in 2008.

New Hotel Experience - New Sensation

Arriving at Jiangmen ferry terminal from HK was already 7.45pm. Plus filling up the immigration forms and the custom checks, I was out from the terminal around 8.14pm. Good thing my favourite driver, Mr Tang, was already waiting for me patiently outside the gate and waving at me with a friendly smile.

I got into his humble '82 VW Jetta (still in very well maintained condition) and took us another 15min to reach the hotel. Nomore Yucca this time. As part of my journey was to attain the Jiangmen D&D 08 and therefore I was put in the same hotel, Palace International, where the D&D would be held.

Stepping into its grand lobby was very much like the rest of the typical China hotel. Big, spaceous and marbel flooring from the door all the way to the check in counters. I had my room key and then got right up to my room at the 10th floor.

Some shots of the room:

and you cant imagine what kinda iron which they had sent to my room. Take a good look at the picture I took. Its an iron which we used in the 50/60s where the iron draws the water from a plastic container and delivered to the iron as steam. Good grief! Normally, I take just 2-3min to iron a shirt and last night, I took 15min at least for a shirt. Just 3 shirts already took me like 45min or so. Thank goodness... CHINA!

But one thing about the hotel, which I am sure my baby will definetely love it, its the 'wash-your-buttbutt' spraying system. Check this out!

4 nights in Jiangmen... its just the beginning....

Jacky Cheung World Tour Concert #93

Purchased the tickets (6) about 3-4 months ago when I first heard from Yes933 that the tickets will be launched over the internet booking via SISTEC. Then I got aiai, Alison, Viv and CY to join in the fun at the Indoor Stadium. It was the first time we ever watched Jacky's concert and it was awesome! Simply brilliant! He sang over 30 songs including a 30min stage play which Aiai liked it so much. He, indeed the 歌神!

Jade's full month party

Was invited to Jon's little daughter's full month party at his house, Grange Hill Court. Most of the admin team members were invited as well exclude for Blue whom he was away in Japan. JDredd & Marc were invited and Deck was late (as usual lah, partied till late and couldnt wake p in time) and thus not in the picture.

Our mini New Year Party

Tho it was nothing fancy about our new year party but its really the company that counts.

We all gathered in Chee Yong's unit at Tiong Bahru Court (high floor and huge floor area) where everything is just a few steps away (MRT, market, Tiong Bahru Plaza and hawker centre).

We had much food to spare in the afternoon where we had fishballs, po-pian, Tiong Bahru bao, fruit platters and the best of all, the fried mee hoon with curry chicken cooked by CY's mother.

After the heavy feast, we had 1 solid hr to play pictionary which had so much fun out of it. For "title", Alison drew a wedding couple. For "pulled muscles", Alison drew a man carried 2 small balls. Made us all laughed until stomach pain. Despite all these fun, we went across to TB Plaza to catch an evening movie - AVP2 (Aliens vs Predator II). Pretty decent but of coz, not as good as the original Alien(s) series.

After the movie, we all decided to have something to eat/drink which we started off with teh, then hopped over for la-mian (thanks to Aaron) and then ended up at the Mr Teh Taleh (thanks to Vivien). But the chitchatting was so good that we all enjoyed the company. Whole session ended around 12.30am and gezz.. I all forgot I got to work the next day.
