Valentine's Day - Chicken Pie anyone?

Like most couples out there, its a day to celebrate and get romantic. Without fail, I will always buy a bouque of flowers on the day and make my baby feel extremely loved. The blue tulips arrived in the afternoon and it did give my baby a pleasant surprise.

And the shocking news is, I just discovered that I got chickenpox. What the 'Pi' !
At this time? Was planning to take a 2 weeks off to St Fransico, LA and Los Vegas in March and now I got this chicken thing? Thanks to Val, my dear neice whom had just infected by chickenpox during CNY period and looks like she was the one whom passed it to me. So, my Vday was ruinned and hopefully I can recover fast enough to get back to work and get another 2week off from work to go for my US trip!

Day 15 of CNY

Its the 15th day of Chinese New Year. Which means it has come to the end of the Spring Festival. How sad. How I wish its just the beginning of Spring. Like all saying, good things must come to an end. Lets wait for another year - PIG! :)

We woke up around noon time and did some house cleaning and then we headed down to Lynn's new house at Toa Payoh Lor4. Very good location and high floor too. They spent $400K+ for the unit (a 10yr old 4room flat) plus another $80K+ for the renovation and accessories.

Lynn showed us around their house and all the details which the designer had implemented. Very impressed. Followed by buffet and some light deserts, we set our regular blading session at East Coast Park.

Eric (Icer) joined us much later and after the blading, Ben and Aaron came along for dinner at Old Air Port hawker center.

After the dinner, we went to Ben's house (for the first time) which was just 5min driver away from the hawker center. Ben showed us all the photo that he took during his St Francisco trip last June and recommended us which routes to take and which hotels to stay. His advice really helped us alot in our planning.

KM8 at Sentosa

What a day to chill out at Sentosa. As usual, we went to Silra Home in the afternoon to hello hello the elderly since we have not been there for about a month. They missed us! Many volunteers were there too. We did not stay too long at the home cause we gotta catch up with Aaron & friends.

We fetched them at Habourfront bus-stop and we decided to spend our evening there at KM8. Mok & Karen, our new friends (Karen was Aaron's JC school mate) and Aaron all shared the same common topic - "M". Seem like we could put her life into a movie or something. Maybe we can publish her real life story to TODAY and make it famous.

We left Sentosa at 9plus and we went to one of the Viet restaurant for dinner along Killiney St together with Ben. The Pho was good but too bad, we couldnt try their white spring-rolls. After the dinner, we sent the ladies back.

Aiai has her bday celebration early this year

Aiai's bday celebration came early this year. Tho it still got another 3 days before her bday. Many thanks to Alison who brought the bday cake & present over to give her a surprise. After the cake cutting and a small piece of Sinfully chocolate cake, we had our dinner at Sembawang's Bottletree restuarant.

A Picture of our 全家福

This is our first family photo. Many of our friends dont even know we already have our first daughter, Celestialla. We kept it very low profile and now, we decided to annouce it online that this is our baby, Celestialla Gan.

She looks more like mummy or her daddy!? :-)

'Off-site' Meeting - Round 2

Took a half day leave and went for my 2nd off-site meeting at Tiong Baru. After dropping aiai off at Sherton Way for her facial, I arrived at Central Plaza kinda early. Took a short break outside the office building and say a few pray before I stepped into the office.

The meeting went kinda smooth. Did manage to answer some good technical questions and overall impression was good, I think. Nevertheless, it was a good experience for me.

Waited awhile for aiai to arrive at Tiong Baru MRT and we popped over to Dynasty Travel to check out our US trip. Clifford (the MD of the company as well as one of the brother from VAGSG) helped us to plan out our routine for the trip. St Frans - LA - Vegas and Disneyland & Universal Studios are just some of the highlights. Feeling so excited about it. Now, the challenge now is to get my visa done.

We visited Eric's shop (Bugis Point) again and this time, we do it for a reason. :) We need him to help us to wire up our Xbox, DVD and SCV box into our amp so that we can play and watch all at the same time without plugging and unplugging. We fetched him over to our place and after a hour of troubleshooting, we found out that our SCV box had video output problem and therefore there wasnt any picture display from our projector when we watch the cable. So, that would also give us a good reason for us to switch to digital box. Thanks to eric for all the effort, I drove him back home.

My CNY Holiday ending soon

Today marked my last CNY Holiday. Would be back to work tomorrow and I am feeling abit down. But what the heck! Aiai said 'Lets look forward to our US trip' ! Yeah!

It has been a long time since we last roller blade at East Coast Park due to the rainy season in the Dec plus all the errands that we needed to do during CNY period. Now, we are back in gears to burn some calories.

Had a good run along East Coast Park with our blades, together with Aaron. And to our surprise, the cable skiing business is up and running. The lagoon, just next to the Lagoona Hawker Centre, we saw people doing cable skiing and it was attracting alot of crowd too. We wondered how much per ride. Aaron was thinking of doing it during the weekdays since his office is so near to ECP. Way to go, Aaron. Just too bad I cant take some good action shot of him slamming his face on the water. hee!

CNY Day 7 - People's Birthday

In Chinese traditional saying, 7th Day is everybody's birthday. Which also mean, we are all older by a year. Happy Birthday to my readers. :)

That afternoon, we attended Baby Isis's 1month celebration at Lydia & Mike's house. The house was packed with people, especially babies. But of coz, the star of the day was Isis. I was there toying with my new 20D.

That afternoon, we went back to JB as we had a family reunion dinner that night. Mum cooked so many dishes and it was always good to get every member of the family to come back for a good dinner.

After the dinner, Dad, mum and ow di went to watch 'Fearless' at City Square. Since we had not been to the new Jusco Complex, we got Juliani to drive us there. Ow Mei came along too. The shopping centre was super huge and aiai got her new pair of shoes there plus a paper-roll doggie for our living room.

CNY Day 6 - Its a Kab's Day

PA called and informed me that my spared mTm rim was ready for collection. I drove down to PA to pick it up and went to SouthEast Tyre to do my wheel rotation. Spent $80 for everything together with topping up the Nitrogen gas. Jeff & Sylvia came along to keep me company at PA as I wanted to install the Phatnoise which I got it like 3months ago and had been kept in the storeroom since then. Finally got it out and let PA staff to install for me. The workmanship was good but I could have save a little if I got it done at PinLiang. Now, my Kab is MP3-ed again!

That afternoon also give my Kab a coat of Zaino Z8 selant.

CNY Day 4 - Gugu Margot's Wedding

So quickly, it is already day 4 of CNY. This day, most of the people already back to their working desk but I am still having my holidays. :) Envy?
Today is an important day for us. Its my gugu's wedding day and its also a big reunion dinner for all the GAN families.

Noon time, Cousin Shawn came over to our place and we drove to JB. Poor Shawn had been waited for us till he dozed off at the sofa.

5plus, we reached Kampong. After meeting all the uncles and aunties, we drove to the Summit Plaza at Batu Pahat for the grand dinner.
The dinner was soo good and the atmosphere was even better. We karaoke, we danced, we dined and so much fun we had.

We also went to Uncles' DaGan Cafe. BBQ sotong and stingray was also one of the delights in the night. After all the event, we only managed to get home after 3am in the morning.

CNY Day 3 - An evening out with Karine

We started our day with inviting Aaron over to our place to have a Car Racing of X-box game. Aiai prepared lunch and we x-boxed from 3 to 5.30pm. The Freso racing game is getting too addictive each time I played. Aaron even brought along his personal Logitech Steering Wheel with pedals. He is good and I need more practise.

After done with the games, we packed up and we went to Marina Square to meet Karine, Brian and of coz, Aaron. The quene for Sakae Sushi was long due to it was still the public holiday and the crowd was terrible. Nevertheless, we still went for the Japanese food. We ordered the in-house Yu Shen which looked delicious. Its our first "Lou Hei" for the doggie year, everyone is looking forward to a Fa Cai year!

Not feeling really satisfying after the sushi dinner, we hopped over to Billy Bomber for a big cup of milk shake. Its still my favourite at all times.

9.15pm was the showtime for Fearless. One of Jet Li's kong fu movies. A little pity that this will be his last kong fu movie.

Tho it was approaching mid night when the movie has ended, that's not the end of the day. Karine suggested to go for a drink at Marina Mandarin Hotel. She wanna buy aiai a drink as its my darling's Chinese Birthday today.
